More Facebook Changes? Timeline launches on 12/22

Yep.  Your facebook is changing again.  Timeline launches on December 22nd… However, you can launch it now!

Thoughts:  Some people have compared it to MySpace.  I don’t think so… It’s busy… But, it’s not covered in animated gifs.

I like that it turns your profile into an online journal.  It’s fun to go back and relive 2009.  Plus, now you can add past “life events” to your profile… ie.  day you were married, kid was born, weekly shopping details, bowel movements, etc.  The best part, you can add descriptions and photos to these events!

Facebook has won… they are the talk of the office this morning because of this redesign.  9 out of 10 people are unhappy.  And the new “google+”-like news feed is on fire with comments.

BUT — this is typical of any FB change.  Every single time FB has introduced a change, people threatened to leave, started groups and pages RENOUNCING the changes…

Zuck just laughs… takes it all in… and grows his empire.

So, since were stuck with this hodgepodge of social network giants (see picture below) rolled into facebook… Let’s figure this thing out with the help of Gizmodo:

According to sources, facebook will be launching a redesign to “make the page more ‘sticky.'”

we’ve also learned that the platform — which will include music and video from partner sites — will display the media content a user is watching or listening to on their profiles.

So, essentially, facebook is aiming to become MySpace.  Soon, all profiles will look like a 12 year old girls locker.
