GOOGLE SANTA TRACKER

Google has gotten into the Santa Tracking this year, offering an app that utilizes their maps application and search functions.  It’s live now.  Start tracking!

Celebrate the holiday season with the Google Santa Tracker app for Android. Santa’s developer elves have created this app to follow Santa on his December 24th journey as he delivers gifts to children all over the world. To learn more, visit http://g.co/santatracker Happy Holidays!

NORAD Tracks Santa

NORAD Tracks Santa

NORAD has been tracking Santa for quite some time now… and even offers up North Pole games for the kiddies with their Santa Tracker.

The NORAD Tracks Santa App is the official mobile app of the NORAD Tracks Santa program. Watch the days countdown to Santa’s flight, follow Santa’s progress on December 24, play “Thin Ice” to help Santa’s elves deliver presents, and learn about NORAD and its mission.
Please note that the countdown in the app is NOT a countdown to December 25. It is a countdown to when the app begins tracking Santa’s flight.

To read more on CMAS, read this article on ivcel.com, or the fcc.gov.

BlackBerry has updated their facebook app. This will be good for you, if you use “groups.” No more bouncing to the browser to interact.

Inside BlackBerry

Last time we checked in on the Facebook for BlackBerry® smartphones app, it received a major update and became BBM™ Connected. In the meantime, the development team here at Research In Motion (RIM) has been hard at work bringing improvements to make this popular app for BlackBerry smartphones even better. Best of all, you get to reap the benefits because it brings some new features that #TeamBlackBerry has been asking for.

Let’s take a look:

First, we’ve added “Facebook Groups” to the app. Facebook Groups keeps you connected to the different groups and organizations that you belong to. You can keep tabs on the Groups you’re already a member of, right from your BlackBerry smartphone. You’ll be able to post your updates, comments and media. You can even check out the profile info of fellow group members and get notifications when other members make updates.

How to Update BlackBerry OS Software

Need to update your BlackBerry to the newest software?

Step 1: Download BlackBerry Desktop Software

If you don’t have BB Desktop, get it!  Use it to sync your Outlook Calendar and contacts, back up your device, sync music and videos… and most importantly… Update your device. NOTE: This is a 200 MB download, and may take a while depending on your internet speed.

Step 2: Download BlackBerry software update.

You will see a dropdown menu of all devices that have software updates.  Select your device, and then download the latest software.  The newest will always be at the top.   NOTE: This is around 100 MB, and may take a while to download depending on your internet speed.

Step 3: Install.

Install BlackBerry Desktop software.  Install BlackBerry software update.  NOTE: the BB software update will install, and you will not see where it went… It’s like it magically disappears.  However, it will be there in the next step.

Step 4: Hook up your BlackBerry to your computer with USB cable.

BlackBerry Desktop will open, and recognize your device.  Black up your device.  Then look for the star (red astrick) next to your software version that says update available.  Click that.  Then, update your device!

BlackBerry 7.0 Users please update to 7.1 Bundle 1149
